“And hath made of one blood all nations of men to dwell on the face of the earth.” (Acts 17:26)
Suppose you are dying, in need of a blood transfusion and the hospital has run out of their supply of your blood type. There is enough time to rush blood from another hospital and it arrives just in time to save your life. Can you imagine asking the doctor before the transfusion, “Is the blood from a black person, oriental, or white? Is this male or female blood? Was this blood taken from a rich or poor person? Was this blood taken from an educated person or uneducated person?” These are ridiculous questions and you could die in your prejudice! Blood unites all people. Nationality, social status, sex, and skin color may be dividing points, but not blood. I can take blood from you, but I cannot take your nationality, your gender, or your skin.
Jesus did not shed His skin for us. He shed His blood. He gave the part of Him that unites us all, not a part that could divide us. His blood has made a brand new race where there is not male or female, rich or poor, Jew or Gentile.
The world is in Adam, spiritually dead, and headed for eternal death. Their thinking comes from their nature of death therefore it is filled with prejudice toward anyone different than themselves. Why should we who are born again, part of the kingdom of God, a chosen generation, and a holy nation, be influenced by the world’s way of thinking? Philippians says to let the mind that was in Jesus Christ be in us and to esteem others better than ourselves.
All mankind is united by natural blood. The family of God is united by supernatural blood. “And they sang a new song, saying,You are worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for you were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation” (Revelation 5:9).
