Revival is Coming

Before I discuss the fact I believe revival is coming to our nation, I want to examine where revival begins. It does not begin in a nation or even a city of the nation. Revival does not begin in a church or prayer group within the church. Revival begins in the heart of one person who seeks the presence of God for themselves.

REVIVAL BEGINS IN US

For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God: and if it begins with us first…

Peter knew that judgment (spiritual examination) must begin in the heart of the believer. Peter was not referring to the church building in this verse, but as pointed out in the next phrase, the house of God is us.

The revival at the turn of the century at Azusa Street in Los Angeles, began in the hearts of a small group of Bible school students in Topeka, Kansas. Actually, it began in the heart of the school director who asked forty students to find the scriptural evidence of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. One week later, after scriptural examination, they all concluded it was speaking with tongues. The school leader then asked them to begin to seek for the evidence for themselves. From one prayer meeting with a few students, a revival began. A visiting minister from Dallas took the message back to his church, and a number were filled with the Holy Spirit and revival broke out in his church. Another man visiting from Los Angeles took the desire for spiritual renewal back to his church at Azusa Street. A revival broke out there and lasted three years.

The revivals that occurred in the New Testament at Samaria and Ephesus began with a few people in prayer. Jesus told the disciples they had entered into another man’s labors and had not labored on their own for the number of people who received Jesus that day (John 4:38).

REVIVAL TODAY

I know for a fact there are ministers across this country who are crying out for a visitation of the Lord on our land. It seems before any revival in our history, there is a quiet time and a desperation to know where God is or if He still cares. Then with a small ember, a spark, the Lord begins a forest fire of revival.

I believe you and I will see a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit on our land and it will not be the same as it has been before. The Holy Spirit does not change, but His methods and plans do. Just as the healing revivals were different from the Azusa outpouring and the Charismatic movement was different than the Pentecostal revival, so will this revival be different. There is a generation out there who is unconcerned about what the revival is called; they just want a fresh experience and relationship with the Holy Spirit.

I want you to agree with me and take time each day to ask the Lord for you as an individual to be a part of the coming revival. Put aside any plans about how you think it ought to come, or for which group you think ought to be responsible for the awakening. Just say, “Here I am Lord, use me.”

Precepts

Our nation needs revival and the first revival began with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the 120 in the upper room on the Day of Pentecost who were hungry for everything God had for them. As recorded in the book of Acts, all 120 began to speak in tongues as the Holy Spirit gave them utterance and revival spread like wild fire! This month our CD offer is Praying in Tongues (PR1108). To order, call 1-800-284-0595. We hope you will take advantage of this timeless and relevant message. Thank you for giving into the kingdom of God. Each time you give, you are ultimately contributing to the souls of people and the approaching end time revival.

Thank you for your faithful support,
