"That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6)
The spiritual law that everything produces after its own kind is found from the very beginning of the Bible. This law is true in the spiritual kingdom as well as the natural. It is true of plants, animals, fish, and birds. It is also true with man and it is true with God.
Love produces love and hate produces hate. Green beans produce green beans, turnips produce turnips, cats produce cats, dogs produce dogs, and people produce people. God, Who is a Spirit, produces spirits.
Every living creation passes on its individual attributes. Turnips smell, taste, and look like turnips. Cats have whiskers and look and act like other cats. Dogs have tails and look and act like other dogs. People have the attributes of other human beings. They have eyes and ears and hands and feet.
I received all of my hum an attributes when I was born. I have the same feet and hands I was born with. I did not go to the doctor when I was two years old, have my original hands removed, and two-year old hands attached. My original hands had the inherent ability to grow to their present size. I simply learned to use what was given to me at birth. These hands that at one time could not hold a bottle can now drive a car.
When you were born of God, you received all of His attributes. You have the same love, joy, and patience you were given when you received Jesus as your Savior. You also have the same measure of faith. You do not have to trade your faith in for more. One of the most unscriptural prayers you can pray is “God, give me more faith!” This is like saying, “God, give me more hands.” Just as with your natural body you learned to use your hands, you need to learn to use the faith you were given at the new birth. Your faith that at one time could not trust God for a pair of socks can today believe Him to make the house payment, receive divine healing, and trust Him for souls to be won. Like developing a natural muscle, your faith needs to be fed and used. It will grow.
So, quit asking God to give you what you already have. Learn to use all of the attributes given to you at the new birth. You have the nature and ability of God living inside of you. Whether you realize it or not, you are a devil-destroying world overcomer!
